Feedback is often introduced as a technical error:
It’s the unwanted HOWL that surprises us when a microphone hears its own loudspeaker.
In this workshop we reverse things.
Feedback becomes a sound generator. Instead of asking how to cancel feedback, we ask how to listen to it, shape it and work with it as a dynamic system.
The central idea is simple:
Part of a system’s output is returned to its input.
From that simple loop, complex behaviour can emerge.
We’ll be (mis)using a range of different synths, devices and mixers as feedback machines.
Hopefully we’ll be able to feedback multiple feedback signals from these machines and collectively play with it.

Bring your own gear if you have something you’d like to feed back: synths, mixers, effects pedals, microphones, small speakers, or other suitable audio equipment.
